CURRENT BRITISH GT RACING DRIVER
David Whitmore makes a habit of defying expectations. He’s from a council estate in Oldham, but has made an impact on the ‘gentleman’s sport of racing.’ He’s dyslexic, but the keenest communicator on a grid. He’s 6’6 with a rugby player’s build, but an amateur driver pushing professionals’ times.
A family man based in Cheshire, Dave’s first glimpse of GT was when his grandad took him to Oulton Park, on the buses from Oldham. They couldn’t afford a ticket, but managed to peek through the fence at Lodge Corner before being moved on by the marshalls. Thirteen-year-old Dave was hooked. Life led Dave down many paths, but when his wife told him to follow his passion, it brought him to club racing in 2010. He’s since developed his skills in Hill and Sprint Climb Racing, Tin Tops, Mazda MX5 Cup, BMW Compact Cup, Civic Cup, BMW M3 Cup, Polaris SXS, Club Enduro, Brit Car, Gulf 12 Hour and is a current British GT Championship Racing Driver.

Recent Races
David’s career in motorsport started nearly a decade ago in sprint and hill climb championships. After a year in BMW compact, BMW M3’s and then racing an M4 in Club Enduro he finally got the chance to race in GT series.

Dave’s raced in Brit car, Tin Tops, BMW Compact Cup and M3 Cup. Best results – 1st place in M3 Cup and also a 1st at Spa in Tin Tops. After a few successful years in Club Enduro in, now taking to the next level in British GT.
